On December 8th, 2020, The Volusia County Democratic Party elected a new slate of young officers, including a new chair, 29-year-old Dr. Richard Thripp. Richard ran for Congress earlier in 2020. Other new officers are:

Chair: Dr. Richard Thripp
Vice Chair: Ms. Jessica Smith
State Committeeman: Mr. Evans Smith
State Committeewoman: Ms. Valerie Duhl, certified 12/24/2020
Secretary: Ms. Emily Humphrey
Treasurer: Mr. Andy Frostman, appointed 1/18/2021 because Mr. Brandon Schwedes resigned

Thank you for your service and your diligent efforts. As we go forward during this holiday break, we will be working to recruit members for these and other committees, to organize better, and to build systems for engagement and outreach efforts in 2021 and beyond.

We are planning to overhaul our website including new tools and pages to learn about and join Volusia County’s Democratic clubs and caucuses, to learn about being an appointed precinct captain and help our approximately 150 elected precinct captains succeed, and more.
